Campaign for Change

Courageous advocacy is one of our core values. We challenge myths surrounding sexual violence and abuse, and those who do not support survivors. You can support Survive and those living with sexual trauma by campaigning for change.

National and local campaigns bring the conversation surrounding sexual violence and abuse to the forefront. They help elevate the voices of those affected by sexual trauma and demand change.

Below are some ongoing/upcoming campaigns that you may like to get involved with…

Act on IICSA

Three years ago, the final report from the Independent Inquiry into Childhood Sexual Abuse (IICSA – “ick-sa”) laid bare a national shame: for decades, institutions prioritised their own reputations over the safety of children.

The Inquiry heard from 7,500 survivors, reviewed 2.5 million pages of evidence, and exposed a devastating truth, one we can no longer afford to ignore.

But since that report landed in October 2022, not one of the 20 urgent recommendations has been implemented.

NOT ONE.

Find out how you can join our campaign #ActOnIICSA – we’re fighting to turn IICSA’s recommendations into real change, and to make sure children are protected and survivors are no longer met with silence and delay.

Write to your MP and tell them why it is so important for services like Survive to be properly funded

On Tuesday 13 May 2025, we made the deeply difficult decision to temporarily close our waiting list to new unfunded referrals.

This step comes in response to prolonged and increased demand for our services—demand which Survive cannot meet through the funds we currently receive.

You can support us and survivors of sexual violence and abuse by writing to your local MP and telling them why it is so important for services like Survive to be properly funded. A template letter is available here.
